How to priority

I've seen people ignoring DDs 5km away while shooting at BBs 10s of km back and get hit by torpedoes. These are most probably the people who screams torps OP. 

Most of these are general target priorities. Circumstances may change depending on who or what is closer to you and how dangerous they are. 

DD

DD > BB > CA > CV

Reason? The DDs will most probably be the ones spotting you so get rid of them if you can. 

The only time a CA > BB is when they are very close to you and are spotting you and you don't have smoke. 

I have never really find CVs that dangerous because once they release their loads, they need to resupply. Getting rid of the BB dealing 30k every other shot is more important.

Cruiser

DD > CA > BB > CV

DDs are the highest threat to you and your team. They can't be spotted unless you get close and torps are deadly if they hit, which they most probably will because most people have no idea how to dodge them.

CAs are second, simply because they are mini DPM machines.

You most probably can't hurt a BB much, so leave BBs to your BBs.

CVs are nothing to you because you have your lovely Barrage.

Battleship

CA > DD > BB > CV

Now you will ask, why not hit the BBs?

1. The enemy CAs can take down your DDs.

2. Your CAs can get taken down by their CA while aiming the DDs.

3. The BBs would most probably be too far away to hit when you see both the CAs and DDs.

These three simple reasons are enough to warrant getting rid of the CAs first, and with your high damage, it would be pretty easy. Unless RNG loves you.

Next, if the DDs are 5km away from you, STOP AIMING THE BBs! You wouldn't want to eat any torpedoes.

BBs are third on the list just because of their RNG as well as their fluctuating damage. Unless you are really unlucky, you wouldn't get hit on your citadels. 

This is a team game. Save your teammate's health pool and they will help you get rid of any obstructions. Eat a hit or two for your teammates because it could save your teammate's life. More guns on your side, the better to hit the enemy with. A CA and a BB can beat another BB easily.
